There is not a day that goes by where I don’t use these three applications. From posting photos, to communicating with clients and photographers, Facebook, Instagram and Gmail are my go-to apps.
Facebook: a great way to connect with friends and family, you can share photos and posts whenever and wherever you want. I personally use Facebook as a Home base for my cosplay business. Giving people access to my content and contact information, while allowing them to share their own photos with me.
Instagram: Another great way to share content with viewers, I use Instagram to post progress photos and update my followers on what I am working on and how it is going. I also like running giveaways on Instagram rather than Facebook because you can reach a wider audience using hashtags.
Gmail: In my personal opinion, emailing is a more professional way to communicate with clients. If I am working with a company vs a single person, Gmail is the best way to go.
Posting: What to do and What not to Do
When posting on social media or writing an email, I like to keep a few things in mind.
- Make creative posts
- learn from other’s
I tend to have a negative reaction to posts that are either very bland in creativity or are offensive in nature. Here are some examples of posts that I generally have a bad reaction to on Facebook and Instagram
- lengthy Instagram descriptions
- Click-bate
- multiple ranting posts
- Photos that have nothing to do with the caption or tags.
Facebook vs Instagram: My Thoughts
When it comes to my needs and what I want to get out of an app, I need to think about my goals for using that app. If i had to choose, I would prefer Facebook over Instagram. Why? Where Instagram is primarily about sharing photos, Facebook is made to share quite literally EVERYTHING! While it might be a little harder to reach your target audience of Facebook it is still possible. Also, I find it easier to communicate with potential clients on Facebook rather than Instagram.
Email: Clients and Professionalism
No matter who I am sending an email to, I always send the first email with the most professionalism possible. This means, No spelling errors, always addressing the appropriate recipient, always having a subject in the subject line, always getting straight to the point, and signing the email with your name and position. I like to look for all these aspects when receiving an email from a new client or potential client because it shows the level of professionalism, as well as their intentions.
Digital Marketing: Today
There is no doubt about it thats social media apps and digital marketing has change the entire business world. Now, you don’t have to plan an entire business trip to share your products with the world. being able to post, chat and share new media and ideas with clients, potential investors and customers. Along as a professionalism is maintained and communication is one of the top priorities, a company can befit from the use of digital media.
With that being said, I have begun to notice that some companies are just starting to throw information out into the world with no meaning at all. just posting images and information is not enough and can sometimes seem annoying to the other users. Like I mentioned before, it is important to make the post something that the clients and customers will remember, and not just something to scroll past
